Uniting, empowering and strengthening families
WE HELP FAMILIES FIND NEW WAYS FORWARDFamily Futures of Missouri serves Franklin County and surrounding areas. Our goal is to unite, empower, and strengthen families. We help parents improve their family skills, creating families that are more stable, independent, responsible, and productive. Family Futures provides families with someone to walk by their side while providing education, coaching, and one-on-one support.
Some of the folks that we work the closest with, are parents whose children have been taken into the custody of the state of Missouri. We work closely with the court, Children's Division, partner social service and mental health organizations, and our community to wrap the needed services around these parents and teach them the skills needed to parent their children in a safe and happy home.

THERAPYSometimes you can’t go it alone. You need someone to help you think clearly and focus on getting better. Therapy is a way to work on the things that clutter our mind. It's hard to parent children at the best of times, its really difficult when we have unresolved trauma that we have not worked through. We can help with that.

PARENTING CLASSESSome people say there is no formal training to be a parent. You learn from others, see what’s working and do your best.
Family Futures believes that all parents can benefit from parenting education classes. Specifically, those with a history of problems coping with daily life. We follow something called the Nurturing Parenting Program. It’s a family focused way to build parenting skills as an alternative to potential abusive or neglectful child-rearing practices. Participants who completed Nurturing Families showed improvements in their overall functioning and therefore become better in their role as nurturing parents. |
FAMILY SUPPORT PARTNERSWhen you have had problems with your life and family and it has gotten to a critical state, you need to have some help making things right. Family Futures Family Support Partners help support parents through the Children's Division process. Our Partners are here to support you in navigating, connecting, coordinating, supporting, the process of bringing families back together. They are your lifeline, your day to day support and, sometimes, just someone to talk to when you need it most. Family Support Partners, themselves have had children in state care. For many, they are the first people that parents trust in this journey. The success of our “Partners” has been nothing less than amazing.
